I had the pleasure of enjoying an espresso, a cold drip, a Gibraltar, and an espresso cheesecake. Each item was an experience in itself. The espresso was rich and full-bodied, the cold drip was smooth and refreshing, and the Gibraltar balanced the perfect combination of milk and coffee. And let's not forget the espresso cheesecake—an indulgent treat that perfectly complemented my coffee experience. Whether you are in for a quick coffee fix or looking to savour each sip, this place will not disappoint.

It's a small, charming café loved by both tourists and locals. Visited around 11 on Wednesday, there were a few people. The customers were diverse, ranging from office workers to high school students. I ordered a seasoned latte with hazelnut flavor and spicy avocado sandwiches. These were good! But the latte was a bit lukewarm. So I asked the waiter to reheat it but he said no. But a few moments later he came back to me and said “I will try it” which was really sweet! The atmosphere was really bright and good so I will definitely come back to this cafe soon.

Fabulous, cosy cafe with a wide range of coffee and other drinks on offer. There is a breakfast menu available from 08.00 - 11.00 and a separate food for the rest of the day. The eggs Benedict are delicious with the eggs being perfectly poached.
The staff are super friendly and helpful. The menu is in Japanese and English. Japanese, English and Portuguese spoken.

Even though we're from Sapporo, Hoccino is our go-to spot whenever we get the chance to visit Obihiro! This coffee shop truly has something for everyone, from expertly crafted pour-overs and espresso drinks to refreshing cold-brews. Whether you're a coffee aficionado or just curious to explore new brew methods, you'll find Hoccino a comfortable and welcoming place.
On our current visit, my wife raved about her iced latte with the Hoccino house blend, describing it as an excellent latte where the balanced coffee flavor shone through the milk, complemented by just a hint of sweetness from the whipped cream. As someone who prefers less milk with my espresso, I was thrilled with my Gibraltar made with Brazilian beans. It was a fantastic choice, especially when paired with a slice of their cheesecake and some delicious Hokkaido ice cream.

During a previous visit when we had more time, the owner gave us an incredible coffee experience. We sampled their 24-hour cold-brew, and while I usually find cold-brew tastes stale, Hoccino's was remarkably fresh and full of flavor—and it certainly packed a caffeine punch! We also enjoyed a couple of espresso shots, sampling different origins and roasts, in addition to our usual latte and Gibraltar. We left a bit over-caffeinated and jittery, but we absolutely loved the personal experience and learned so much. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

An Australian coffee lover friend told me to visit this place if I’m ever in Hokkaido so I did. Amazing coffee and food with a distinctly Aussie vibe. we also met the owner Bruno who is lovely.

A place like home! Cups of hot beverage and a delightful slice of cake to warm our body and soul during the winter season. The owner Bruno has been extremely hospitable and he gave us a few good tips on travelling within the area too. Us being travellers who speak little Japanese, it was a great relief for us to have entered this cafe and getting to know such welcoming person as Bruno. Hope to get a chance to visit Hokkaido again!
